International cooperation
Cooperation with International Organizations
The Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) has continuously cooperated with several international organizations to upgrade its operations to cope with the international standard through the exchange of information, conference, training and study visit. Additionally, the cooperation also covers taking part in various activities held by both the oversea governments and private sectors. At present, PAT is a member of the following international organizations :
- The International Association of Ports and Harbors: IAPH
- The ASEAN Ports Association: APA
- The International Association of Lighthouse Authorities : IALA
- The International Navigation Association : PIANC
Bilateral Cooperation
PAT carried out cooperative projects with various ports, under the Sister Port Agreement, the Friendship Agreement and the Joint-Marketing Initiative Agreement, to exchange information, experiences and technology as well as to cooperate in marine transportation development and port business. The projects are as follows :
- Sister Port Agreement between Kitakyushu Port and Laem Chabang Port
- The Friendship Agreement between the Port Authority of Thailand and the Government of Flanders, Belgium
- Joint-Marketing Initiative Agreement between the Port Authority of Thailand and Port of London Authority
